Tennis can be a ticket to a life-changing higher education for young Mozambican athletes, and we work in collaboration with the Mozambique Tennis Federation to provide the following programs:

National Junior Tennis Program

Advantage Mozambique supports the national junior tennis program to develop talent through investments in training, equipment, and promotion of the sport. The program is designed to introduce youth to the world of tennis and nurture their talent and passion for the sport by offering professional coaching and mentorship, teaching essential skills, techniques, and strategies to help young athletes develop into well-rounded players. Young athletes learn discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship, instilling values that extend beyond the tennis court.

College Prep Program

Advantage Mozambique assists promising young athletes and their families to identify opportunities to play collegiate tennis in the US and help them to prepare academically. This support can include intensive English lessons for athletes who will need to improve their language skills before studying in the U.S.

Need-Based Financial Support Program

Advantage Mozambique will provide need-based financial support to athletes with college educational costs not covered by their athletic scholarships. These funds will help cover tuition fees, books, health insurance, visa sponsorships, travel, and other necessary expenses. Many athletes will probably begin their studies in the U.S. at the junior college level (2 years) with the goal of them obtaining a full-ride athletic scholarship at a university to complete their collegiate tennis career and obtaining their Bachelor’s degree.
